Shiatsu Massage Therapy

Shiatsu is perfect for emotional healing, pain relief, and wellness. What is Shiatsu? Shiatsu is a Japanese therapeutic form of body work based on the Acupuncture system of points and meridians. Its name is derived from the Japanese term for "finger pressure." "Shi" means finger and "Atsu" means pressure. The client is fully clothed and on a floor Shiatsu Table.

What is Ashiatsu? Ahisatsu means "Foot Pressure". Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is a very deep tissue massage whereby the Registered Therapist safely and accurately walks on the client to relieve deeply held restrictions held in the fascia and meridian system of the body. If you have never gotten walked on you have to try it! The client is fully clothed and on an a floor Ashiatsu table.

Registered Shiatsu Therapists use their fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows, feet, and knees, and other tools, to work along the Acupuncture Meridians lines using Acupressure, stretching, and compression to release restrictions held in the body/mind.

This non-invasive Acupressure Therapy stimulates the body's own curative or healing abilities. It is the perfect tool to release emotional tension in the body and to experience the healing that comes with this release. Because of this, some say it is "Beyond Massage!"

Touch For Health

Touch For Health is a simple and effective healing method used for activating  the human body and it's awareness. It' promotes "Self Responsibility" and encourages the client to participate in their health journey. By using  muscle monitoring as a bio-feed tool, along with other techniques, we can identify the sources of stress which lead to chronic pains, illness, mental fogginess, and other related facets of stress and disease.

There are four levels of Touch for Health which are usually taught as a series of weekends. There is a standard curriculum set out by the International Kinesiology College (IKC) so that classes maintain a certain standard worldwide.

Touch For Health was written by Dr. John Thie and published in 1973. patients. He took what worked best for him in clinical practice, and incorporated it into his book. His dream is that every household would have someone in it that could do Touch For Health, thereby potentially improving the health and well being of the world.

The IKC International Kinesiology College in Australia carries on the heritage of Touch For Health today, but the credit actually goes to the Ancient Chinese.

Touch for Health is now taught in over one hundred countries worldwide. Learn a new career or enhance your current one! There are no prerequisites for learning Touch for Health. It is available to everyone, whether they want to use it for their family and friends, or have is as the basis for anew career. See our TFH Classes page to learn more.

TCM - Acupressure

What is 5-Element Acupressure? Well, it's the same as Acupuncture but there are no needles! More than five thousand years ago the Chinese discovered that by applying pressure with their fingers and hands to specific points on the body, they could relieve pain, improve health, and balance emotions. It is the main form of therapy used in Shiatsu.

Acupressure uses gentle but firm pressure of the thumbs and fingers, as well as other tools to release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood and lymph, and stimulate the body's natural self curative abilities.

Acupressure reaches the chore of many emotional disorders and stress related physical problems that typify our modern world.

By freeing unresolved emotional experiences stored in the body, acupressure can alleviate a wide range of everyday aches and pains, allergies, digestive problems, poor circulation, sleeplessness, and other chronic complaints.

Most therapies address the cognitive and emotional aspects of trauma but do not get to the physiological component. Acupressure has the advantage over other therapies in that its techniques work directly with the body that has been affected by trauma.  Emotional imbalances and the physical symptoms that accompany them, are often the body's response to chronic or unresolved issues, stress, and events.

S.I.P.S.  Acupressure System

‚ÄčSIPS is an acronym for "Stress Indicator Point System." It is a revolutionary way of balancing the body's electrics through the Acupuncture meridian system.  I like to think of it as Acupressure on steroids.

SIPS Kinesiology is one of the most innovative and effective Specialized Kinesiology techniques to be developed in recent years. It is a brilliant breakthrough that has changed the way we can work with the Acupuncture system. The foundation of Acupuncture and Specialized Kinesiology is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which has been around for over 5000 years.

Resistance to our innate healing limits the effectiveness of any treatment method. SIPS identifies the types of stress involved that creates this blockage, and disperses the resistance to healing, so that the treatment can be gently diffused at a profound and core level. Ian Stubbings is the author and creator of this modality.
